Would I Make a Difference?

If I'd stood up for that guy
Instead of making fun of him
My friend may still be alive
But would I have made a difference?

If I had carried her books home
Instead of knockign them to the ground
She may not have felt so alone
But would I have made a difference?

If I had said hi to him more often
And tried to be his friend
I wouldn't be staring into his coffin
But would I have made a difference?

If I had given her my bus seat
And gone out with her sometimes
She may not have hung herself in defeat
But would I have made a difference?

If I had listened to him talk
Instead of brushing it off like nothing
He may not have bought that glock
But would I have made a difference?

My attention may save some lives
My smile may make someone's day
A seat may give them a reason to survive
But would I make a difference?
