An analysis of Elijah's Cup in understanding Passover and Judaism

INTRODUCTION "The Prophet Elijah and the Ten Lost Tribes of Israel"

In 1985, I was led of the Lord to investigate and record information concerning the coming of the prophet Elijah and the Ten Lost Tribes of Israel. I will attempt to explain critical scriptures emphasizing the importance that only God alone can create and raise up a prophet. Man it not capable of creating a prophet as some religions would have us believe. I wondered to myself, who in "their right mind" would want to be a prophet anyway?

For those folks who like a challenging bible study this is it - for those of you who do not have the patience or are just not interested I ask for patience. In bible research, a cross-reference with another verse is necessary to create proper validation. I did not make the rule, I just follow it. Two verses is good, three is excellent.

This particular paper is only an outline of a more extensive writing. It was condensed by me to offer the reader understanding without the complication of too many scriptures. Many verses I have written out completely, others partial with added verses for the bible scholar to look up, hopeful that I have retained the most important parts. I will attempt to briefly explain some of my logical and spiritual thoughts leading up to the conclusion of this paper.

We first need as a premise for this study a critical bible verse. In the book of Luke 1:17 we read, "He will also go before him in the spirit and power of Elijah, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children,' and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just, to make ready a people prepared for the Lord." Cross-reference into Malachi 3:1, "Behold I send my messenger, and he will prepare the way before me . . . ."

The verse in Revelation 11:3 significant - "And I will give power to my two witnesses, and they will prophesy . . . . " Which I use as a cross-reference important to this research because it involves not only the coming Elijah but Enoch as well. These two prophets never saw death as recorded in the scriptures.

Enoch - "By faith Enoch was taken away so that he did not see death. . . . " Hebrews 11:5 and Elijah - "And it came to pass, when the Lord was about to take up Elijah into heaven by a whirlwind . . . ." II Kings 2:11. Then cross-reference to Zechariah 4:11-14; this verse talks about the two olive trees symbolic of the anointed ones by God.

Matthew 17:13, tells us about John the Baptist who had the "spirit and power" of the Old Testament
