Open not, o Muse, the Pyrenean spring
Pure waters, rein back the impatient team,
Excitement brought not Phaeton esteem
Nor held aloft Icarus' soaring wings.
Yet all at once, knowledge of ev'rything
Opens hope, as though mere facts held the seam
Utterly of import to ev'ry scheme:
Release the cup, step back from the Ring.
Enough that awareness discomfort bring
Yet without its don in a changing stream;
Enough that the words emerge into light
So oft conceal'd, so often in plain sight.
