MANDALA
Invocations
Goddess on the North
Extend, if you will, the silvery thread of your wings
Protect that which is sacred in us
From that which is destructive in us
You are welcome here
Goddess on the South
Withdraw your sword from its scabbard
And pierce the profane
That we have wrought in our ego
In the glint of that shining steel,
Reveal the reflection of our masks
So that we may dwell safe in the knowing
That only our insincerity is being cut away to the wind
You are welcome here
God on the East
Ignite the element of fire
Expose the darkness of our ignorance
In the light of ecstasy of eternal Truth,
Renew our courage with confidence in peace
Reveal in the light of morning
The newness of expanded awareness
So that we may see what has always been
No longer occluded from our heart's eye
You are welcome here
God on the West
Remind us of what remains as true
Linger on within us as light through the darkness
Join us in dream, where the inhospitable illusion of ego cannot enter
Remind us of our Divine inheritance,
Of our eternal Source that marks the completion of our meaningless circle
Remind us that, upon return, all that remains is eternity
We will speak no more of beginnings and endings
You are welcome here
Human
With your first breath, time begins second upon second
Tender, innocent and loved beyond love
Mile upon mile of tiny arteries, flush with Life's throb
Electrical firestorms in your mind
We wait with bated breath to hear your thoughts
What world could this be if, instead of "Mama" or "Papa",
We encouraged you first to say "Love"?
Could we grow wise enough to remember
That your learning is in the wobbling, falling down, standing up and trying again,
As your laughter and joy inflate the air,
All the days of your glorious life?
What then, my love?
You will love and be loved beyond love
You will break and be broken
You will ache until you hear your heart speak, "Enough"
And when, at last, you agree, "Yes, enough",
In that moment
The next step you take in service of your heart
Will be set on a path leading somewhere actually worth going
Avoid merchants of sin and salvation
All you're buying is their domination over your mind
And trading your clarity for confusion
When the Truth, after all, about your salvation,
Is it has resided within you since all time
You have never gone a moment with it
Indeed, you could not go a moment without it
Being
Man, yes you, cloaked in flesh and blood
See the sky behind you
Indeed, something other than night approaches
Ominous swaths of charcoal, but don't be fooled
It is only a holy storm
Step into the veils and be purified of fear
Your death, man, is a door opening
In this, the moment of Now, awaken your Being
Your soul remembers the omen of your return
Only your ego breeds fear into the prophecy
Once you admit your ego is blind,
You'll come back to the memory of sight
The Remaining Question
Earth and sun are here for you
Stars shine anew for you
All of life supports your desires
Still, you have asked for evidence of Love
Ah yes. That
Source
Once we return to the realm before First Breath
We will then know why we walked in convolutions
Why we made a labyrinth out of nothingness
Suffered the insufferable, believed the unbelievable
Paid in pain for that which holds no value
Surrendered much joy for emptiness
Why we endured the journey of Mandala
Poor choices, errant decisions, and yet,
We return to find that it was we ourselves
Who lived as evidence of Love

Waiting for my Son
As I sit in a wheelchair in Sunny Side Home
I roll to the window and try to look down

YOUR WAY
I can do it your way
I don't really mind
It doesn't really matter
It's your way or mine
It was my idea
But I'm willing
If you"re meek
And rather weak
You always say
Let's do it your way
If you're strong
But sometimes get it all
With all my heart
I wish you the best
as you head off
to make your way
Gone are the days
when you needed me
when we laughed

Your way is aggressive,
Aimed at achieving enormous success,
Late nights and early mornings,
Little time for rest.
