To give you some inspiration this article is going to provide a sampling of what you and your family can see and do while in Charlotte County. Discovering the rest will be up to you. Enjoy the exploration!
Location:
Charlotte County is located in the south western portion of the Province of New Brunswick. The St. Croix River runs along the western portion of the county, which separates the United States and Canada and empties into the Passamaquoddy Bay, a part of the Bay of Fundy.
Getting To Charlotte County:
Travelling to the area is very easy. You can choose to drive, fly, or bus. Our family prefers to drive to our vacation destinations as much as it permits. Even with the current inflation of gas prices we budget accordingly. For us travelling from Georgia to Charlotte County it is just under 1500 miles and worth every mile travelled. We generally take Interstate 95, however on our last trip in 2006; we came back to Georgia using Interstate 81. The drive is less congested and you by pass all the major cities that can delay your travel time.
If you prefer to fly to the area, your family can fly into Saint John, New Brunswick (YSJ). The city of Saint John, New Brunswick is never abbreviated (for example St. John), the reason for this is it can be easily confused with St. John's, Newfoundland. You may want to jot the city down in quick form but doing this could potentially send you to the wrong destination. Many towns such as Saint Andrews, Saint Stephen, and Saint George are abbreviated. You will never see this done for Saint John, New Brunswick and if you do, it is incorrect.
History, Ties and Roots:
One of the fascinating parts about Charlotte County is not just the beautiful scenery but is also the history this area holds. The history of this area is not just local but also national and international. For American visitors you are going to find that much of the Charlotte County history is also a part of your history. Take the time to learn a part of your American history.
It is no secret that Canada and the United States are good neighbours and allies. One does not fully realize the ties the two countries have, until visiting the area. You will see how the two meld together, despite being two different countries.
The Charlotte County area is predominately
