before knowledge
plucked so rudely from the Tree
God gave Man
the Word
the power of Meaning
so like an angel
and so unlike
as though with a lever
I could move the world.
It escapes me
the touch
definition:
Tell one
Bright steel levelled at his throat
that the pen is the mightier?
Those generations they mean to kill
They destroy the Word first.
