Sitting on the fence

Hey You! I'm talking back at ya! To me, sitting on the fence is like getting hit by a freight train, just a little bit. There are ramifications for thinking and doing nothing. Omission is a sin as much as comission. Omission is when we keep to ourselves part of the truth. But I recognize these are words from the Catholic faith and may repel you like water, not the holy kind either.

We are surrounded by meaninglessness. Our most sacred and intimate selves are paraded and mocked across the stage of every television set. There are theories that the media, intentionally, is attempting to replace the voice of God, some call it our conscience. I just don't give the media that much credit, the media is an energy like money, or sex, and what we do with it is our own choice. Thou mayest.

I converted to Catholicism at the age of 53 years old. It is the best thing I have done in my whole life, except for being a mom to the most terrific daughter in the Universe. By the way, she was an accident, and I was urged by several people to get an abortion,...but alas, not me.
Instead I married her dad, and tried to make things work out, they didn't, but she is still the best mistake I ever made!

My gramma was Irish Catholic. My sister and I had her rosaries after she died. When we were young children, my parents didn't want us to have to go to Catholic school, and besides they had become Presbyterian. We became educated as most of us are, my father believing we needed to go to public school, because that is where "real life" is. Who knows, we lived to tell, and we both have several college degrees.

I was doing a great deal of traveling, selling Antique and Estate Fine Jewelry across the East coast, and I kept picking up a book here and there related to Mary. Be it in a airport, or a flea market, I gravitated to the subject. This stage of conversion is called "the calling". Mary this and Mary that. Mary and the Feminists. Mary the Apostle. Mary the Blessed Virgin, you get the idea. Mary is significant because she was present at both the birth and death of Jesus. Islam has a Mary too, but this goes largely unreported by our secular media by the way.

I was told that once I converted to Catholicsim my life would change. Two weeks within my conversion, which is traditionally held on Easter Eve,...my landlord died, and I was laid off.
Back to square one, meaning going home to my parents. Little did I know that my mother was headed for cancer, and is in the final stages
