I'm new, but this topic has jumped out at me and I can not believe it is on here... I'm a Goth, so you've probably guessed it, I PREFER HEAVY METAL!

Now Heavy metal is the best thing in the world and I wouldn't be able to live without it... so the question on everyone's minds is why do Goths and Emos and Scene Kids and Rockers and all the others love heavy metal?

Well it's a simple answer, we are usually depressed, some may have had a hard life, others are as close as it gets to committing suicide due to they have nothing to live for. Ok you may think that the people who are so close are lucky, there is people out there without a family and no food, but you don't realise that we have nothing to live for, we may think it's a dream world, we are imagining that our family loves us, but someone has pulled us out of our dream and made us see the reality, my friend's family treats her as a tenant in her own home, she's watching a perfect family bring up their one and only son, her brother! She is clever and her parents push her to do well in school so that they can be happy, but we know they are lying they are getting older and older and want to retire on the money their daughter will bring in!

So how does this link in with Heavy metal music? Well it's simple we are all depressed for a number of different things. If you listen to the word of some heavy metal songs, you'll see why! We can relate to the song and understand it, the music has prevented so many suicides it's unbelievable!

Life can be extra ordinarily hard and on us it's really hard, one of my other friends life has been a misery due to the fact that his girlfriend died, not only that but his girlfriend's brother had killed her, I shan't go into too much detail as you'll be surprisingly shocked and he will kill me literally if he even found out I've breathed this much of the story all ready!

How many people do you know who's been in this sort of situation? How many people do you know who have even wished they were dead? How many people do you know who cry every night feeling really unhappy? Ok maybe people who live in a poor country might cry as they don't have enough food or don't have a family but what's worse? You decide!

My question is, has Rap done anything this SPECTACULAR?

In my opinion rap is just a type of music people enjoy, ok they may be able to relate to it but they aren't full of depression they are full of life, and compared to the life we have it's totally different!
