Christmas year-round: Preparing way ahead of time

by Lori Macdonald

Created on: January 01, 2007   Last Updated: April 26, 2007

Are you like me, and find that again, this year, you have put Christmas preparations off too long. You find that there is niether enough time nor money to get and do the things you wanted to get and do. There is a solution. Now that the New Year is upon us, I am beginning to get ready for Xmas 2007. I am committed to keeping my New Year's resolution to be more organized, expecially where Christmas is concerned.

Some of the things I plan to do this year, so I don't get stuck:

-make my own alcoholic beverages to serve to friends and family.
-create some unique gifts for some people I normally can't afford to buy for.
-create and follow a cleaning schedule so my place is not a dump on the big day.
-use Cafe Press to create family calendars, cook books and scrapbooks for some of
the special people in my family.
-create handmade cards throughout the year, update my address book.
-start mid-November buying goodies normally picked up on my annual Christmas Eve
blitz.
-start getting Stocking Stuffers NOW! (its the little things that cost the big
money)

These are just a few of my ideas. I will do my best to update my blog as I proceed to implement my plan. Any recipes used will be included. Any crafts I make will be explained in detail. I hope you will follow along, and start preparing for Xmas 2007 with me. I normally say I hate Christmas, but I know it is because I am never very well prepared, but this year, I plan to be prepared at least a month in advance, and I can truly celebrate the most joyous of seasons, instead of stressing to the point of a breakdown!
