Before I begin, let me just say, that I have no formal training with animals. However I do have a great respect for all living things. From the time I could walk
I was taught to never harm another person or creature. Over the years there have been a number of loving animals in my life. When I was a girl I spent time at my neighbors farm, watching them tend the cattle, the chickens, horses, and other creatures.I believe it begins with respect, for not only people but all God's creation. If one looks at this from that perspective, then it takes on a new meaning.I believe that a person who would deliberately harm or neglects an animal, would somehow treat humans much the same way. Seems quite simple to me, that the animals that are around us are as much apart of this planet as we are. they all have their place, and function. when a species begins to fade, through man's greed, or natures fury, we all loose something valuable.the question we should ask is, do we need to pay attention? what do you think? I have watched the birth and death of more than one poor animal, and it touched me.
We need to think about things like getting our pets spayed or neutered. we also should think about the health and welfare of the animals in our care, not just food and water, but the overall health, like rabies, heart, worm mange, etc. If a person does not have time or space, then thy should try at least to be more aware of the animals around us. With the polar ice caps melting and the constant destruction of habitat, animals depend on us more and more to step in , and defend what they cannot.Although we have many people and groups doing what they can, it takes each of us to truly make a difference.I loved each animal I had the privilege to befriend. I felt blessed to be loved by my little pets, and if given a chance would have more. With all the oil prices soaring, and property out of control, it's getting harder for animal owners to choose, Bills, food or pets. So many are being taken to places and being euthanized. sometimes hundreds a day. These poor creatures have no say, and that's truly sad. Although I can relate to the pressure that many folks feel, it still seems to me something can be done.they cannot speak, and if they could, what do you think they would say?
I for one believe that they would have a lot to say; Like, why me? What did I do to deserve this? I love you, I was well behaved, and I even tried to do tricks. Please don't let them hurt me. I feel pain, and I just
