All that is lost and all that is remembered
The resentment and the pain and the blame game
An inner thought that just I can understand
So ignored and so punished and so cast out
Requiem for all of my childhood
The search for needed love and the conquest
Stitching my wounds with bacteria strings
An inner swelling that just I can feel
Loved only for a moment then cast out
Requiem for all my adolescence
Yearning for respect hoping for parity
Trumped up language to fill in the darkness
A damaged ego that only I know
To nevermore be the one who is cast out
Requiem for all my intelligence
Too mindless to know it too slow to see it
Almost losing my salvation unworthy
A shameful blind eye that only I have
Feeling from now until then well cast out
Requiem for my shocking treachery
Lost search for hope now too easy to see
No resentment no wounds no holes only worth
Damage that blinds no one that I live with
Never looking back the demons cast out
Requiem to ease all my suffering

If I told you I couldn't catch my breath,
Would you breathe for me,
Or would that be too complicated?
