Motorcylists should always wear helmets. Yes they should. I know that we are America and our God given rights are what enables us to decide what we will and won't do with certain parts our body. Understood. Being free does not always mean what's best for you or the citizens around you. That's why laws were made in the first place. What if I am driving a car behind you, I rear end you, and then you go flying. What if the cause of death was internal bleeding of the head, and had you been wearing a helmet you could have been saved. Granted, had the car not hit the motorcyclist, the motorcyclist would still be okay, but things happen. Things like accidents. It just happens. Bad things always happens, and if we could lessen the chance of fatalities with bad things happening, we should. It seems only logical. It's also safe. It's scary enough when I am driving behind a motorcyclist because I am afraid I will hit them and injur them. A motorcyclist without a helmet only doubles the chance of injury. No, I'm not only worried about myself. American's want to protect one another, and in that protection we want to protect all people who participate in all activities. Motorcyclists want to be on the open road feeling the wind and being reckless. One could suppose that being reckless and a bad boy doesn't include wearing a dorky looking helmet. Probably not. Things aren't always about being cool. Chances are, if motorcyclist gets thrown off of the cycle, they are going to be seriously injured or die. It is a risky activity, which is why so many people are drawn to it. It's not the riskiest behavior one could do, but it's still dangerous for everyone involved. That dorky helmet could save the motorcyclists life. Helmets should be worn for bicyclists and people who ride scooters too. Neither one of them should even be allowed on the road because of the danger involved. Cars are just too big and powerful, and there are far too many drivers who don't pay enough attention. If a car can easily crash into another car, then hitting a bicylce or motorcycle would be no problem. Having driven by many a gravesite on the side of the road because of someone who got killed in a motorcycle accident, I believe the law should be that helmets are to be worn at all times. Some laws shouldn't be laws, but the helmet law would protect everyone on the road a little more. No one can be one hundred percent safe, but if that percentage could be raised, wouldn't you want to? You can't be a bad boy if you're dead.
