Wacky, funky, and crazy hair is always a way to show individualism without going too far. Recently I dyed my hair black and the tips of my hair blue and purple. Walking around our small town in Texas everyone stared and said, "Is it my eyes, or is your hair really blue?" Of course my hair caused a stir in Corsicana and after a few days everyone began to talk about it, and want to see how it looked and wanted me to take pictures. I had my hair colored for about 3 to 4 weeks and unfortunately I cut it out last week, which is the only down side to coloring it.
My hair wouldn't take the color, so I had to use dye remover and make my hair turn white before I could actually dye my tips blue and purple. (So yes, during this whole dying process I pretty much fried my hair.) BEFORE I dyed my hair blue and purple though, I tried turquoise which just made my hair look like a blonde had been in chlorine for too long so that had to go. I guess only blondes can have that color. Of course I did all of this famous art work on my hair at home, and my sister dyed it for me; so sitting in a chair and having her foil my tips and having to sit there forever really wasn't pleasing. AND I had to do it a couple of times to get the actual color I wanted, including the ugly color in my hair that I had to get out which I tried twice to get it a darker color; but it failed. But when it came to take out the purple and blue dye and redye my hair black, it wouldn't take the color, so I had to cut a good length of my hair off which I guess is okay since it's summer. But I'm really not used to short hair, so it's a downfall to dying my hair. Now that I no longer have the color in my hair I walk around town or get on myspace and see all the girls in Corsicana who are doing exactly what I did. I see girls with pink, turqouise, green, blue, red all in their hair, a little patch of their hair, and on their tips. I just hope they know that it may not come out like they think it will, and they are going to have to cut it off or out, and that may not be too fun, but if you are a blonde it usually comes right out when you dye your hair back blonde, but for us with brown and black hair its a little more difficult which I don't understand. I do think dying your hair a funky color is wonderful, crazy and fun though. I think it shows you as a more interesting person, and makes people want to get to know you and ask you why you did it, but when everyone starts to do it it gets a little old and you want to do something else. So on my agenda next since everyone decided to dye their hair is black and pink coon striped extensions.
