Anxiety
My life is caught in a whirlwind right now.
There's a tornado careening through my mind.
Everything around me is spinning, spinning.
.
My thoughts won't settle down.
They are kicked up like dust
swirling through my mind
so fast that I can't grab hold of any one of them
I am running in the whipping wind
knowing that the storm is about to pass.
I can see calm, gentle rain outside the whirlwind.
How I long for Your rain!
The gentle spring rains
settling my thoughts in my mind
as the rain settles the dust.
Holy Spirit, calm my mind and my heart.
Fill me with your peace
so that I may have a walk worthy
of the calling I have received.
Take away my anxiety
and bring peace.
