Many of us face this very challenge everyday of our lives. We wake up and think, "why do I need this job?" The response, "I am supporting my family" or "I need the money." There is a plethora of people who go to work everyday with literal hatred for their jobs. This ultimates causes stress, depression, anxiety, and an unwillingness to share the ideology of "doing their best" with workplace goals and eventual outlooks. Americans need to start thinking outside the box and begin to realize when he or she is not happy.
Listed below are some tips for regaining ones life in the employment world:
1. Accept the fact that this current job is not working. Realizing the problem is really the first step.
2. If you wake up in the morning and already have a migraine headache, you are too stressed at work.
3. Gain your inner strength and see the problem at face value. Do not force yourself to keep a job when there are other options.
4. Sometimes people have life changing events and his or her current employment is just not feasible no longer. When this happens it is no fault of your own. Life happens.
5. Create down time relaxation. Yoga, meditation, exercise, walking, and many other activities should help you along the road to decision. Know that this job is not forever.
6. Channel your experiences within your current and past employment. Develop a skill, strength, and needed experience list. Sometimes these lists guide one into an entirely different profession. Some people cannot believe that he or she ventured into a risky business opportunity.
7.Keep a list of contacts just in case you need it in the future.
8. Pat yourself on the back for a job well done and if you choose to look back at your past job look for the good things but acknowledge the bad because it will make you a better person in the long run coupled with working on personal insufficiencies.
9. Indulge in something you have never done before. It will leave you feeling exhilarated.
10. Take care of yourself, your family, and know with each choice in life there is a reason behind it. Most of the time choices come full circle and this could be viewed as a new beginning.
We are all not cut out to work in the same job for years. Sometimes it takes a village of opportunities to finally find the right job or opportunity. If work is not what you want to do and you want to spend more time on family or a hobby, so be it. If you want to make money in a differing vocation all together...seize the day. With life there is no set destiny. We create our outcomes and our fulfillment. If we want to flounder all day at home, develop a new idea to be patented, or become a stay at home dad...we have the pleasure of choice.
