Poetry: Walk on a wire

Walk out on the wire
Life to expire
And there are angels amongst us

I get to the end
I see two beautiful God-sends
With words they melt my heart away

They're fighting on their own now

They trap themselves alone
All in a saddened home
They struggle their lives forward

There's a feeling I get
When I talk to the west
In a fearful field of solitude

Through the clearing in the trees
Underneath the birds, next to the bees
Those two angels lie alone

I hear the piper soon
When he entraps the tune
His broken heart lead him no where

Aside the wyverns and gnomes
Above the offices and phones
Draws a fantasy I want to know

In the dungeons with the rats
Alone and counting the vampire bats
Scare me into dreaming again

I feel the tears of hope
Surround the castle and its moat
In spite of all that is true

The saddened sprites
And the stumbling knights
I know the end is hear

And it makes me wonder
That love is really a bother
When there are echoes of despair

And if there is wisdom out there
And you take all the hope you can bear
Buy me a ticket home
