I look at your face
So young and unlined, the face of a child
But your eyes reveal the wisdom you hide
The wisdom of an old soul
The words that find their way through you
The actions that reveal the inner you
Your patience when others are losing theirs
Words of comfort in times of distress
No room for anger in that tender heart
A gentle hand to calm when things are bad
Wise beyond those tender years
The more I look at you, the more I understand
It is the cycle of life that has made you so
An old soul found it's way to you
