A real friend will understand that there are different stages in life that we all go through at different paces, and a real friend will not turn their back on you when your stage doesn't match up with their own.
A REAL friend does not judge you. Everyone has their ups and downs. A real friend will be there for both.
A casual friend may bail at the thought of dealing with your problems, but a real friend will stick around to help you through them.
A real friend will be honest with you, even if it will sting a little, only because your friend wants you to succeed or better yourself. This honest friend will still know how to sugarcoat harsh reality when you've made a mistake and don't need to sink any lower.
A real friend, like any real relationship, can have moments of silence with you and still have the moment be comfortable.
A real friend can make you angry, upset but can also make you laugh all in the same breath.
I am a better friend because I have a friend who is real with me.
