A little too late
Before...
There was not enough hours in the day for you to spend time with me.
There was not enough space in the room for you to sit next to me.
There was nothing I could do to be good enough for you.
There was nothing I could say for you to wanna hear me.
There was nothing for me to wear for you to see me.
There were too many other things being bright for me shine.
There were too many other calls for you to answer mine.
And then
I was gone and it felt like you forgot to do something.
I was gone and the room felt a little more roomy.
I wasn't around to be the expectation bar.
I wasn't around making you feel like there was something you were supposed to hear.
I wasn't around and suddenly it was like you overlooked something.
I left and the light seemed to be dim.
I left and it was like the phone stopped ringing.
But now
You count the seconds on your fingertips waiting for me to have a free moment.
You count every single square inch an empty room crying out there's miles.
You know now that as far as girlfriends go I'm more than the bar, I'm the perfect example.
You know now that every time I open my mouth the world is to be shh-ed and your ear to be open.
You know now that everything I wear I wear it best, with style, grace, and class.
You realize the only thing that ever really shined was my smile.
You realize the only phone call you were really getting was mine.
Before you had time,
And then you had a chance,
But now it's too little too late.

Before...

There was not enough space
Deleted from memory,
Deleted from possibilities,
Delet ed never to be retreived,
Deleted by accident leaves a feeling of disgust,
