A Soldier That Should Have Never Left Home
She hugged her mom and step dad and said her goodbye's. She had wanted to go over sea's a few months ago, but she wasn't so sure now.
"I love you ashley!", her mom yelled as she walked to the gate to board the plane.
"Love you too mom", she said looking back to her mother.
She boarded the plane, found her seat, and settled in. She was dreading going to Iraq. She had no idea what to expect. But she was sure she would find out soon.
"Welcome to united air lines, please buckle your saftey belts for the take off, and have a nice flight", the sturatess said.
Shortly after take off she settled in for a nap to help pass the time. She had the most horrid nightemares of the things she would see in this far away war land. When she awoke from her uneasy nap and checked her watch she saw that she still had another 9 hours on the flight.
"I wish this was all over with and I was on my way home right now", she said to the soldier sitting next to her.
"You and me both", replied private Olsen
"Hi, I'm Ashley Bradly", She said, smiling and looking at him with her big blue eyes.
"I'm Brian Olsen", he replied
"Is this your first trip over seas", she asked while looking into his sexy brown eyes.
"No, this will be my second. I really hate leaving my wife and kids for such a long period of time but duty calls." he said.
"Oh" she claimed.
Good goin Ash, hit on another married guy why don't ya? She thought to her self.
She sat in her seat completely silent for the rest of the flight. Thinking about her friends and family back home. She wondered how it would affect them if she didn't come back alive or even worse what if they didn't care.
As the plane landed she took a deep breath, trying to prepare her self for the eight months ahead of her.
"Well, here we go private Olsen." She spoke.
"Good luck private Bradly."
"You too." she replied.
Once she reached her base she had to immediately report to her sargent. Who then assigned them to thier bunkers, and handed out maps of the base.
" I want everyone to report back here to me at 0800 hours for thier work assignments", bellowed Sargent James.
At least she could atempt a good nights sleep before she had to do anything else. As she got to her bunker and sat down she began to look over the map and noticed that it also had a daily schedule on it.
Breakfast 0400 hours
Gym 0500 hours
Report to post 0800 hours
Lunch 1100 hours
Return to post 1130 hours
Leave post 1800 hours
Well at least she would have a little time to her
