Earth is always going through periods of cooling followed by periods of warming, which is a natural occurrence associated with any fluid-covered planet. However, scientists cannot explain the tremendous loss of sea ice and many are filled with concern.

While there is much debate over whether or not global warming was caused by humans, most all agree that the situation is looking grim for the future. Many scientists are scratching their heads over it and agree that we could be facing some major consequences.

If carbon dioxide levels double that of pre-industrial levels, temperatures could rise as high as 5 to 8 degrees by the year 2100. Subsequently, we could see catastrophic events of biblical proportions. Many scientists are saying that if global warming continues at this rate, it could seriously alter the climate.

By the year 2050, the world's population is predicted to reach a whopping nine billion, which would mean a serious threat to our fresh water supply. China currently has a population of 1.3 billion consuming its resources. India is close behind with over one billion and growing.

Overpopulation is suspected to be a factor in global warming in its effect on the environment such as deforestation and air pollution. Furthermore, overpopulation represents a huge amount of waste and if it's not handled correctly, it could lead to diseases and pestilence.

Global warming is predicted to spur climate migration. People fleeing harsh climates will inundate neighboring regions, possibly spreading disease. One of NASA's top scientists said that global warming has gotten so bad that drastic action is our only hope.

However, people all over the world from all walks of life, including some scientist, are turning to the bible for answers.

"And ye shall hear of wars and rumors of wars... nation shall rise against nation... there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. All these are the beginning of sorrows."

"Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh: So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors... Behold, I have told you before." (Matt. 24)

The signs and warnings given by the Savior become even truer with each passing day. In addition, the events developing in our universe are also believed to be associated with global warming and bible prophecy.

Briefly, the sun and planets are lining up with the middle of the Milky Way. The sun is reaching maximum and could produce sun flares which could hit the earth. Since this galactic alignment happens only once every 26,000 years or so, experts who study these things don't have enough information to predict what kind of effect, if any, the alignment will have on our planet.

Nevertheless, Jesus Christ said, "Great earthquakes... famines... pestilences... fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven... And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars." (Luke)

Opportunists are shouting, "Run for the hills and find your safe place, but first, buy my survival supplies!"

If the things these false prophets are predicting actually come to pass, no one would survive no matter where they hide. Jesus Christ, the Savior of the world, is the ONLY safe place and he will save all who belong to him.
