Song of the Heart
When the dew caresses the myrtle tree...
When the sunrise smiles on the peony...
When the rose is kissed by the honey bee...
My heart shall sing of you.
When a calm breeze sighs through the morning air...
When the song of life echoes everywhere...
When the sky boasts freedom from every care...
My heart shall sing of you.
When the sun retires at the close of day...
When it dazzles earth with its bold display...
When the tulip bows her head to pray...
My heart shall sing of you.
When the moon rides high on the rim of night...
When it bathes all heaven in spectral light...
When the whipoorwill takes his lonely flight...
My heart shall sing of you.
When spring alights, preening vale and hill...
When the meadow models the daffodil...
When the air bursts forth with the robin's trill...
My heart shall sing of you.
When the sun glares sternly upon the earth...
When summer authors the breeze's dearth...
When sand and sea resurrect spring's mirth...
My heart shall sing of you.
When summer hastens to greet the fall...
When a carpet of color lies spread over all...
When the peach blushes ripe and the corn stands tall...
My heart shall sing of you.
When winter swaggers briskly in...
When the howling, whistling winds begin...
When snow and frost prove loyal kin...
My heart shall sing of you.
When the years have fled and life's flame burns low...
When passion's flare becomes love's warm glow...
When our memories like clear streams flow...
My heart shall sing of you!

Do you ever experience that feeling,

THE HEART
From within, an ache that grows
Filling the boundaries of my mind
Spreads the pain and on it flows
To reach the heart
I lay here cold and lonely,
My heart is on the floor.
It lays there where you left it,
When you walked right out the door.
I

I feel you I know you
at rest where it's safe
your scars though healed
so deep and afraid of pain
Reality now your keeper
I feel
