It is your first pregnancy. You are very excited and scared at the same time. The anticipation only continues to build as your pregnancy progresses. You have a mixture of emotions and you are not exactly sure what to expect with your pregnancy. Even more importantly on your mind though, is what on earth is childbirth going to be like?! So, what should you do? You should do what most anyone else would do for a big event in their life: prepare! Most hospitals and birthing centers offer childbirth and labor classes to teach and prepare expecting women for this monumental event!

Childbirth is such an overwhelming experience it's only natural you are going to want to be as prepared as possible for the big day! The best way you can ready yourself for this quickly approaching event is to enroll in a childbirth class. Child-birthing classes are very educational and not only teach you important things about your pregnancy, they also teach you ways to cope during labor and the different options available for different possible situations.

Most hospitals offer a variety of classes for expecting women. From classes for early pregnancy, or expecting multiples, to classes on Lamaze breathing techniques, or childbirth preparation; they all are there to help you prepare for one of the most important days of your life! Many classes also begin by giving a tour of the hospital's pregnancy, birth and baby center. This lets you become familiar with the hospital and where you will be delivering your child, which in turn helps you become more comfortable and at ease. Classes assist in making your delivery one of the most unforgettable days of your life!

Many pregnant women fear the unknown possibilities of childbirth. They have many questions about delivery and may not be sure exactly how everything progresses. However, if you know what to expect and you are prepared for it, it makes it easier to transform the fear into excitement. Taking a childbirth preparation class is beneficial because it teaches you the many important things you will need to know during your pregnancy and labor. When you know these things it makes it possible for you to be ready for them confidently!

Knowing what to expect will make all the difference in the experience of your delivery! For your first pregnancy, I would highly recommend enrolling in at least one childbirth preparation class, or even a refresher class for subsequent pregnancies. The benefits are numerous and you will never forget the experience! Make it a positive memory by being prepared and confident!
