Aspen, here I come!

People tend to have a preconceived notion about Aspen being an ideal place to spend the winter only. No doubt winter time in Aspen is great but the summer season in Aspen is just as good, if not better. You may be influenced by the fact that summer is considered to be the off season for tourism in Aspen but wait till you get to know about the wide range of activities and adventures that you can embark on during the summers in Aspen. The mountainous region of Colorado has a little something for all kinds of people which make this region a year round tourist haven.

If you are planning to head over to the misty mountains for the summers there is no need for you to pack up your skiing gear that's for sure. Rather than the mountains being snow massed they'll offer you amazing scenic views while you go on camping trips, hiking and mountain climbing. From all the things that Aspen has to offer the opportunity to experience the natural beauty in the cooler temperatures on high altitudes is by far the most enthralling experience of the summer season. This is because unlike the winters being out door on the higher elevations is quite comfortable even when you are doing the laborious job of mountain climbing.

The trade mark pines of Aspen dot the landscape while the melting snow makes its way between the trees in the form of streams making the outdoor adventures even more majestic. Come night time and you are bound to be awe struck over the outstanding composition that you get to witness with the stars lighting up the nearest heaven and you up high on a mountain.

If this is not enough to convince you that Aspen is an ideal summer spot then know that Aspen is a region rich in arts and culture and they are flourishing more than ever in the summer time. You have a wide range of art galleries and museums to shopping arcades and live performances to indulge in. Amongst the best places to visit to get a load of the local arts and culture are the Center for Environmental Studies, Hallam Lake Preserve, the Art Museum and of course the Aspen Historical society. When it comes to cultural activities you will find the summer season to be too short to be able to witness all that Aspen has to offer.

Come nightfall and you have the opportunity to go dining and try out the unique mix of restaurants that Aspen has to offer. Raw bars and sushi and the different ethnic restaurants give the traveler a chance to spoil his taste buds with tantalizing treats. By no means does this cover all that Aspen has to offer during the summers. You have the chance to get an overview of the mountains in a hot air balloon ride or take a tour of the land on horseback. How about playing golf on the mountains or going fishing in one of the lakes? Amongst the biggest summer time attractions are the water sport activities like boating, river rafting, kayaking and even parasailing. Aspen even has a weekly rodeo show which serves as a great tourist attraction as well. The only thing that you can't do in the summers in Aspen is ski, so if you are ok with that then there should be nothing stopping you from heading over to the mountains in summer.
