This article should be, which person makes the best owner! Everybody is different in their characteristics some are lazy and some like to run. Every dog breed is different some are lazy and some like to run! Each individual dog is different. Dogs are animals of evolution just like everything else. Breeds that where bred for their specific purpose have adapted well at their original funtions.Some breeds are hyper than others,some would rather follow their noses than listen or play!That is what is so tremendous about the canine species. All are have canine traits,but subgroups of breeds are totally different from the other breeds.

The best dog breed for a pet is the one that has the same energy and life drive as the potential owners. If your a outdoors type of family than a higher energy breed is probably more for you.If you are a homebody and prefer to be at home a more laid back breed is good for you. Dwellings also plays a huge part.If you live in a small apartment than a Airedale is not a good choice! There are rules to every exception. Also the amount of time spent with any breed is of question. If you only spend small amounts of time with your pet , he or she might develop a bad habit from limited social experiences.

There isn't any sole breed that makes the best pet. Period! This is not a valid question. There are way too many ideals that come with this question! For me the best pet is one that loves kids and will protect my home if needed, Likes to stay close to home and will not stray! Wow so many different breeds can have the characteristics I just mentioned. So like I said there isn't one breed that'll make the best for a pet. I will name some breeds that adapt best to certain situations and are likely to be well adjusted to their surrounding thus making them a better pet for their environment and families!

I will start with dogs that can and will do fine for apartment living.Like I said though there is always an exception to the rule. You might find a lazier Airedale that will make apartment life easy.Here is the list off the top of my head if I miss any I apologize.

English Bulldog, French Bulldog,Boston Terrier,Border Terrier,Bishon Frise,Basset Hound,Cairn Terrier,Bull Terrier and miniature Bull Terrier,Dachshund,Chihuahua,Cavalier King Charles Spaniel,Lasa Apso,Maltese,most Great Danes,English Mastiff,Italian Greyhound,Norwich Terrier,the Corgi's,Miniature Pinscher,York Terrier,Pug,some Jack Russell's,Rat Terrier,some Westies,Some Fox Terriers,Toy Fox Terrier,Silky's,Shiba Inu,Miniature Schnauzer,and most Toy breeds.

These are some Breeds I would Recommend from experience. These are great family dogs.Most of these breeds bring the right mix of character, such as loyalty, lovable ness,Courage,and gentleness. There are exceptions to the rule again. All dogs are individuals!

American Bulldog, Airedale, Golden Retriever, Labradors, Chesapeake Bay Retriever, Irish Setter, American Staffordshire Terrier, Bull Terrier, German Shepherd Dog, Olde English Bulldogge, Shetland Sheepdog, Rotwieler, Carne Corso, Dogo Argentina, Apbt, Giant Schnauzer, Basset hound, German Pinscher, Bull Mastiff, And many more the bottom line is all breeds will make a fine family Pet if all the conditions are met and the most important aspect of all TRAINING! Obedience training will go a long way to making even the most hyper pet the best breed of dog to be a pet!
