What? Is this the fingers of one religion stretching across public domain? I believe that the Constitution of the United States of America states that all people are created equal with certain inalienable rights including Life, Liberty, Love, and the Pursuit of Happiness. As long as I live under the Stars and Stripes that is the way it should be! Just because you choose to worship the way you want to doesn't give you the right to govern how all should live. Halloween, while originally a Pagan Holiday, has as much right to exist in this country as Christmas, Kwanzaa, Hanukkah, Easter, Independence Day, Memorial Day, Flag Day, Patriot Day, or any other American Holiday. The Wiccans, Pagans, and other religious organizations such as Buddhism, Hinduism, Catholic and Muslim have just as much right to practice their form of religion as any Christians do. I am a Christian, I consider myself among what I recognize as a shrinking population of true Christians, people that live by the teachings of Christ, not what Man has decided to teach about Christ. " Let he who is without sin cast the first stone." The Holy Bible, any text. This country was founded on the principle that we as a people of the Earth; all of us, have God given rights; no matter what God you serve.
For most Children it is just a night of dressing up in costume and collecting candy. Children are not politicians! They are little people that are just learning about the world that they had no choice of being brought into, innocent until taught guilty. The issues that arise out of the symbolic meanings of the holiday is only taught to children and if you are teaching your children that Halloween is wrong; then shame on you for teaching the lesson of hate. That is not the teachings of Jesus Christ! He taught that love and tolerance of your brother. Love your enemies even as they do wrong unto you. Those are the teachings of Christ. Yes, I am holding you in judgment that belongs only to God. But banning anything in this country should be illegal, for that type of judgment belongs also to God and if He see fit He could smite the whole world in a fire that burns forever. Yes, the wicked would run ramped, don't they already, for this Earth is to be held by Satan until the return of Christ. That is when the meek shall inherit the Earth, right? The evils Men do will be paid by their souls. Do not teach the children hate, or you too will be there with the evil ones on the Day of Redemption!
We as Christians must defend the rights of the holiday to exist, just as we must minister to the sinners where they are, in the bars, the prisons, the streets, not just within the walls of our churches; for the sinners that need it the most will never set foot in a sanctified Holy building. The Children must not suffer because of adult quarrels. Suffer not the children of their childhood, for it is short enough on this Earth. I love my children and I allow them to go to Haunted Houses, Trick or Treating, or Fall Festivals (which is still basically Halloween with a more politically correct name) or whatever they desire to do; I have Faith that I have instilled the proper values for them to make decisions about their lives. They are their own individual that needs to learn accountability at a young age these days. Their survival depends on it, and sheltering and controlling your children is not proper preparation for the World they are about to inherit.
