Poor self-employed contractors allready pay 10% tax even on income under the standard deduction. Form S.E. is a basic 10% standard to add into the 1040 form. That 10% payment to a Washington D.C. throwing money around and increasing debts like drunken sailors annually seems a lot. It's required in order to contribute to social security and social benefits I think-yet those systems are implicitly corrupt and badly designed, so the 600 dollar tax owed on 6000 income just goes to the corrupt instead of dental or a down payment on hernia surgery.
The primary good feature of a flat tax is that it might assure that corporations pay taxes. Presently transnational corporations doing business in America don't pay taxes at all, and domestic corporations pay little. Invariably it would let welathy people pay far less tax than presently however, and corporations would find some way to remain beneficiaries of public spending rather than tax payers, so I'll move on to other points on the topic...
A flat tax is a good way to redistribute more money to the most rich. Developing concentrated wealth at the top has grown since its ebb following world war two. When the rich own everything they can earn more form the use of every financial instrument such as ATM's and people can be trained to watch cable t.v. stations they own as they rich sell out their country to foreign buyers. Democracy is tedious for the rich and helping the rich accumulate absolute financial advantage quicker is something Americans are trained to do in this 3rd millennium. It is a different matter to keep 90 percent of one's income and just pay a flat 10% tax for the poor and middle class than it is for the rich. 90 million saved and 10 million for taxes is different than 9000 saved and 1000 in taxes-the 90 million allows the purchase of stocks that let the rich move faster into ownership of everything in society, so keeping their taxes real low is the preferred method for making peons out of all Americans so they can blend in faster with all the illegal aliens arriving.
Flat earthers and flat taxers have a geometry challenged incomprehension of the shape of things to come. Relativity governs many aspects of space-time and non-Euclidean taxation can better approximate service for a democratic society than veiled redistribute the wealth to the richest flat tax plans. Flatness or well-roundedness belong more to descriptions of nails and cosmology theories than tax rates and theories of how to prevent the
