also help take your mind off the game, meet or match ahead.
4) Work together. Because many college athletes have unique schedules and commitments that other students don't have, you may find yourself sharing classes with teammates or other athletes. Get together on your days off or set a time each week for a special study group. You can share notes, compare ideas, fill each other in on lectures someone might have missed, and get the support you need to do well, saving you lots of time and frustration.
5) Ask for help. There will inevitably come a time in your post-secondary academic career when you fall behind. As an athlete, this is often part of the reality of your situation. It's important to stay on task and use your time as wisely as possible, but don't be afraid to reach out if you need to. Most college campuses offer great tutoring programs; some athletic teams even have their own tutors or academic support personnel. These peers and professionals are available to help you catch up if you're struggling, to teach you basic study skills so you can make the best use of your time, and to work with you to develop a plan for success. Also, keep in regular contact with your professors. You certainly don't want to get in the habit of turning every assignment in late and blaming it on your sport, but be sure your instructors know who you are and understand your situation. The more effort you put forth, the more they'll be willing to work with you if you ever need special consideration because of your athletic commitments.
