Same sex marriages, they would be helpful to the economy in the sense that they would help local businesses. At the same time people who use the term conservative in reference to values feel that it is something that should never happen. In this instance the conservative position is that of the religious position regarding homosexual relationships.

When you stop to think about it those people who stand for conservative values are also known for throwing religious doctrine out there as the reason that it should not happen or saying that it isn't natural. The problem with these views is that religion even though it tells you what to do, there is one thing that religion tells you to do but it is one of those pieces of doctrine that gets tossed out the window and that is that you have to be tolerant of others. With regards to it not being natural, who isn't it natural for?

If you look in the animal kingdom and the insect world you will find other species that are willing to do what comes natural even if the animal or insect can't get a member of the opposite sex. So if anyone tries to say it isn't natural that just means that it isn't natural for the person saying it. This causes a definite rift between the conservatives and those who want same sex marriages which causes problems for communities especially if the communities have people on both sides.

The conservative position is the position that has been handed down thru countless generations and taught to us by religion as if this is the only way you are suppose to do marriage and that you are the devils seed or that you will burn for doing something different than what you are taught to do by your elders. If this is truly the case then those who do not follow the bible down to the letter is the devils seed or will burn for not doing so.

The worst part of the whole thing is that the bible in places has contradictory doctrines in it and those who take the conservative position go with one of the contradictory views and it is usually the one that belittles people.

In the United States there is what's called the separation of church and state which means that the conservative view in this case cannot be used legally since it is tied to religion, therefore it becomes a Civil Rights issue. This means that anyone who wants to keep the conservative position to stay as the only form of marriage they have to do it based on whether it should be considered a Civil Right or not.

Since it is more about religious beliefs rather than what is right or wrong, one question should be asked of those against same sex marriages which is:

Have you had pre-marital sexual relations with anyone?

If they say yes then the bible can be used against them in two ways first of which if I remember correctly the bible doesn't permit sex before marriage and second in the new testament Jesus states "he who is without sin can cast the first stone" when a group of people were going to stone someone for sinning.
