Poetry: Good vs. evil

My Anti-Hero.

No knight in shining armour,
No white horse, fast and hard
No cape, no tights, no face-mask
No spider-web, no car:
These are for the Good Guys,
The ones who save the day
The ones who always get the girl
And chase the Bad away.

For the girl is always pretty
And always in distress
And incapable of getting out
Of her own ridiculous mess,
And so she just needs saving
Before her make-up runs
Before her nails are broken
And her dress has come undone.

But you're an anti-hero,
A good guy dressed in black,
Who's not above a shady trick
To make up for what you lack.
And you don't think you're a hero
But you want to save the day
Only you don't know how to beat the Bad
And take the girl away.

You think you're not quite worthy
That somehow it wont work
That someday she'll wake up and think
How'd I end up with this jerk?'
But it doesn't stop you trying
And that's the thing, you see
Cause she's an anti-heroine
Rescue her and she'll be free.
