Poetry: A girl I know

by M.R Vavala

Created on: June 25, 2008

In the mirror, she looks back,
A girl I used to know...

Yet her face is aged and weathered.
Her brow is permanantly down.

Her blue eyes have lost their lustre,
the twinkle has long gone.
Each wrinkle tells a story
and each line a long recant.

The years have not been forgiving
the hardhsips that she has surpassed,
it is really then no wonder,
that her smile is forgone?

Where did the time escape to?
When did the years pass by?
It all went oh so suddenly
to this finally and last goodbye...
