Confessions of a Married Woman...
Recently a very close friend of mine confessed to me something I would never have imagined that she would do, or be capable of doing.
She cheated on her husband of 12 years. I was shocked. Shocked not at the thought of the affair, but shocked that she would be the initiator of an affair. However, shocked as I was- I was even more blown away by the next thing that came out of her mouth. It was not a once off, it was a very common thing in her very, very 'perfect' life.
Now, I say 'perfect', with no hint of sarcasm. To all us friends, her relationship has always been enviable. They are the two most doting, loving and affectionate people I have ever encountered. Devoted to each other, their children and their friends and family. Understandably, I found it hard to believe that what she was telling me was true.
When I gathered enough composure to open my mouth and speak, I asked her whether her husband knew. No tears, no sense of guilt, in fact an instant no. So, why?- I asked.

After 12 years of marriage, two children and finally having the time in her life to pick up where she left off, or start something new- she decided to do just that. Do something new.
She began the gym, cut and styled her hair in a different way, began making an effort with her appearance. This she did all for herself. For 12 years it had been about husband, children and home. She loved them immensely, but- she knew she had taken a very back seat for all of these years. Her husband had begun his own business at the start of their marriage, and she had supported him wholeheartedly as she knew that it was for their future. When the children came, she made the decision to become a stay at home mum. She did not want to put her kids in childcare, but- wanted to watch them grow and give them all the time, love and devotion children need. This she did without resentment, reservation or selfishness. She loved her children dearly and wanted to be there for them until they began school.
Finally, her time had come again. With encouragment from her husband to take her her time, find her path and do what she had dreamt of doing for 12 years, she did.
She began to love the changes she was making. Her husband began giving her even more attention, and soon she noticed that other men were taking note as well. It did not matter where she was, she was always being complimented. At first she did what she always did, blush,
