Holy Cow!
(The Mushroom Poem)
The moon is full and bright;
I can see far beyond it's light.
Searching the woods for patty traps;
spotting quickly, their little caps.
Brushing gently, with a buzzard feather;
damn, I really love this weather.
With three fingers at the base, I snap;
leaving the roots to grow new caps.
My blue, canvas bag weighs heavy as I gather;
off to my right comes Chico, with laughter.
Together, we found the patch;
together, we picked what hatched.
We will wait for the next rain;
and we shall return again.
Mushrooms in Westwood, just for us;
things are great in those piny woods of East Texas.

Worthington Vale
By the shore of Lake Worthington
where the water meets the shore
There lies a secret place and time

Off the main road,
the village trail
bumpy and puddled
after the moment’s rain
hiding the forest path
Erase time for a moment
Space will tranform a secret place to what is sacred
There is a cove waiting for you
It is
My safe haven is a beaten child's heaven.
A place I go to escape reality into a mystical imagination no one knows.
A place
