How to perform an Indian Head Massage Treatment
This form of massage will encourage relaxation, emotional release and a balancing of the individuals chakras. The client will also feel a reduction in physical tension which could have built up due to their stress levels.
The treatment will also aid restful sleep, clear meridian blockages and result in higher energy levels and give a sense of inner peace.
Before commencing the Indian Head massage the therapist needs to connect' with the client. To do this ask the client to remove any neck chains and earrings, the therapist also removes any rings.
The client should sit on a comfortable chair of a height that allows the therapist to stand behind them with their hands on their head without having to tense their own muscles and shoulders.
Ensure the recipient uncrossed lags and has their feet flat on the floor and maybe take their shoes off.
Ask them to place their hands on their lap.
Now need to connect' with the client by placing hands very lightly on their head.
The process of relaxing is achieved by breathing in and out slowly and gently, through the nostrils. This is known as grounding' and allows you to calm the mind and concentrate your energy in preparation for the massage

To commence the treatment place the palms of the hands on the edge of each shoulder, place the thumbs on the outer edge of the trapezius. Applying a firm but medium pressure, slowly work along the top of the shoulder towards the neck in three movements. Repeat three times.
Keeping the hands in the same position, drag the muscle backwards towards the palm of the hands using the fingertips. Repeat three times.
Thumbs should be placed between the shoulder blades with the fingers to the front of the shoulder. Drag the fingers towards the thumbs, pulling back on the muscles. Work along its length in three movements. Repeat three times using medium to firm pressure.
Place the thumbs at the back of the trapezius on the outer edge with the palms resting on the outer part of the shoulder. Place the fingers on the front of the shoulder. Firmly pinch the fingers and thumb together, gathering in as much muscle as possible. Use a medium pressure and hold for three seconds then release. Repeat along the length of the muscle in three movements. Repeat three times.
With the fingers spread, place the palms of the hands together and relax the wrists. Using the little finger edge of the hands, apply light, rapid
