Does the Christian view of the trinity agree with what the Bible says

We humans are broken and need to be fixed. Some are in the process of being fixed, some don't want to be fixed, and some have yet to find out just how broken they are.

Contributors to the New Testament expand on a concept that is only hinted at in the Old Testament; that man is spirit. The unfortunate condition of the spirit of man is dreadful disconnectedness from its spiritual, life-giving source.

Men through the ages have been fascinated with the concept of disembodied spirits. Stories of spirits wandering the earthly realm without a body are folklore in every culture that has risen or fallen in human history. Spirits covet a body. Spirits can leave a body at will. Spirits desire to explore territory beyond marked limits or set boundaries. Spirits wander into forbidden territory. These are the stories of the invisible spirit of man related in myths.

The Bible gives a different rendition of the spirit of man. Our spirits need to be reconnected to God, who, according to Jesus of Nazareth, is Spirit. In the record of Jesus' teaching and the writings of the men that learned from him, the spirit of man desires to connect with God. Most world religions revolve around this desire to connect with our Creator. What hinder this connection are the incompatible desires of our souls and appetites of our bodies. The body wishes to live in comfort and pleasure at all cost or sacrifice and the soul wishes to be the center of attention and be lifted up no matter who must be put down.

We're broken. That's not how we were created to be.

It is in this state that we come to Scripture and try to comprehend the incomprehensible mysteries of God.

I am created in the image of God. My soul is Bryon, my body is Bryon, and my spirit is Bryon. I am not Bryon with a body or with a spirit or with a soul. I am Bryon; Bryon the spirit and Bryon the soul, and Bryon the physical body.

The Bible teaches something similar about God. Jesus taught that God is Spirit and those that desire to worship him must worship him in spirit and truth. Jesus declares the he, too, is God; that when you've seen him, you've seen the Father. Jesus is God the physical body; God that can be seen and touched. God the Father, the Bible records, voices his pleasure in Jesus audibly and men hear him with their ears. Jesus was born and appeared in a physical body in and throughout human history so men could physically see, hear, touch, and injure God. Again, when you've seen Jesus, you've seen God.

Not so with me. When you
