Pottolupus and the Mystery Smell
OH! Howdy there you startled me. I wasn't expecting visitors today. Since you are here, do you want to hear a little tale? You DO? It just so happens I have one ready to tell. This is a wonderful tale about a young dragopottamus, a beautiful mountainous village, and the mystery smell. Are you ready? Are you REALLY ready? Okay here we go.
There is a small village WAY up in the mountains. It was a beautiful village in a little valley at the tip top of the mountain. Some say a meteor landed on the top of the mountain and made a HUGE hole. After it hit, it just disappeared into thin air. This made the mountain magical. They say that the meteor magic is what created the beautiful black and red lilac flowers that are all over the village. These flowers can only be found on this very mountain and no where else.
The village only had 5 families living there. Everyone had to do outside chores such as farming and gardening. This was very important for everyone to be able to survive. There was only one rule within the village; NO ONE was allowed to go on that trail that led down the mountain. No one knew what was on the mountain, because no one had ever gone outside the village. They believe that if you go outside the village, you will disappear just like the meteor did.
Anyway, let's get back to the story. In this village, there lived a young dragopottamus by the name of Pottolupus. What is a dragopottamus? Well, it is half dragon and half hippopotamus. Pottolupus was out doing his daily chores one day and got side tracked by a wonderful smell. It was a sweet smell (kind of like apples and chocolate). The smell was so strong his large mouth began to water and he just had to find out where it was coming from. He "followed his nose" through the village. Just then, he came to a screeching halt. He realized he was standing at the beginning of the forbidden trail.
Now, he knew he wasn't allowed to go outside of his village. So, Pottolupus had a choice to make. He could forget about the smell and go back home to finish his chores, or he could disobey the law of the village and follow that sweet, yummy smell. He didn't want to get into trouble or worse disappear! Then again, he really wanted to find out where that delicious, mouth watering smell was coming from. It was making him so hungry that his tummy was growling like a ferocious lion! What to do this was a difficult decision to make. So, he decided to
What do you think Pottolupus did? What would you do? Well, you will just have to come back for another visit to find out if he followed his nose or followed the rules.
