Be still my beating heart
This vision is not meant
For our unworthy eyes
Release your hold
On these withered veins
For they are weak
Wretched are we
Who skulk in shadow
This angel is not for us.
Be still my trembling hands
This silken skin will not touch
Our defiled flesh
Ease your tension
Lest you break the surface
And our vile essence bleeds
Damned are we
Who bathe in blood
This beauty is not for us
Yet here this divinity stands
Casting her crystal gaze
Floating in the ether
With mercurial grace
Drawing closer
To our bloated corpse
To eclipse our withered form
Yet this grace looms above us
She shatters time
And falls to her knees
Lowering herself to us
Unaware that her dress
Is soiled in our filth
Velvet hair
And Cashmere lips
Immorally rush against
Decay and rot
Be still my beating heart
Be still my trembling hands
This seraph is not for us
Though she now lay
In darkness and debris
Such blasphemy
Is not tolerated by eternity
Paradise will beckon
This light will dissolve
Into solitude and shadow
Darkness ever our mistress
