Genius checks out
Insanity stands at the foot of her bed,
Watching.
Waiting.
Studying the ache of each toss and turn,
Each tear that falls,
Her dreams wake her,
She grips her heart!
Pissed with God,
To stubborn to call for his help!
Pride is this seasons lesson,
But all she comprehends is a refill of vodka.
On a fast road to self destruction,
She's aware,
But doesn't care!
No distraction to save her from herself.
Insanity is watching and waiting.
Moving in closer
Sits beside her on the bed.
"Never sleep flat on your back
The nightmares began
The demons come in"
No longer does she hear the superstitious warning.
Offering opportunity.
The beauty of insanity leans in,
And gently yet passionately kisses the beauty of genius.
Just before, it rapes her vulnerability.
Numb to the familiar feeling.
Having studied each toss and turn,
There is no move she can make to escape!
Genius steps outside herself

Than this big

How does life exist outside my window?

The danger of solitude?
I sit alone in this sometimes
I'm sitting on my porch steps with the urge to cry-
waiting for the phone to ring, ready to die.
The stomach tosses and turns
Where is this place called Dignity
Where is this place called dignity?
There was a time I thought I knew
with certainty,
yet
