Poetry: Mother

by Matthew Doherty

Created on: June 24, 2008

a strong stable woman
to give birth to her kids
anything and everything was giving
for as long as you live

advice to help us by
stories to help us sleep
no matter what you tried
to be the best to me

work to make the bills
and overtime if needed
no matter if it killed
you'd cut until your bleeding

so why now have things got ruff
why now are you not so tuff
a mother who loved us all
now barely tries to give us calls

a mother who just wants to pass
see the light that'll always last
no matter how much it may hurt
you want to leave us here alone on earth

I know we have sisters and brothers
and though we've grown we still need our mother
trust me its true we need our mom
so i'm going to be here to keep you strong

here on earth you'll see the light
and realize you need our love instead
you gave me life in this world one night
and I will give you life, once again,
