Poetry: Mother

I had a dream
Mine wasn't Martin Luther King's
I saw the seed you planted is now the tree

I had a dream
How you made room in your womb to carry me
How you spoiled me with your milk and sweets
How you thought me to stand on my feet

I had a dream
I saw you snap you fingers and I heared you scream
I saw the blood that was soaked in the hospital sheets
What more do I need

What more can I say
You wanted me to read and write so you walked me to school everyday
Made me the man that I am and taught me to tigh my lace
You showed me the light and taught me to pray

I wish we could forever be together
Whenever am lonely I visualise you and put myself in the picture
I cant promise you wont die never
But like a diamond Mama is forever

Oh mother
She knows my favourite colours and I know she loves flowers
As a woman she cries when I cry
More than a man for me she will die-
Even though she gave me life
When she dies I will rejoice
Cos I know Jesus Christ will have His bride

What more can I say
You are the reason everyday is a mother's day
