Poetry: Sin

Sinful Night

She walks to the edge of the water
sees the distance that lay at her feet
and born as the sinful daughter
of every man she will ever meet

She looks to the farthest of places
where sky and her gaze meet the ground
and choosing from all of the faces
chooses one who is steady and sound

His heart opens much to her hearing
his touch is gentle but deep
She waits and is calm but she's fearing
the moment when two might meet

She lay at his feet for the asking
She opens her soul to his hand
He knows that her smile is masking
the blood that she spills on the sand

She looks to the moon for the answers
She wills the stars to speak
but no more than tiny dancers
the music moving them weak

So, he reaches low to touch her
How could this be wrong?
to lie on the sand above her
in the night, where lovers belong...

    Upright and taintless?
