I have a number of wonderful vacation memories. I have made it a point to go on vacation at least once or more a year. When I was a child my parents took the family a many weekend trips and they were great moments in my life. Yet when we grew a little older and were moving completely across the country then vacations became much more limited.
After two years of not seeing relatives that we would see on a weekly basis, became increasingly difficult for me and my family to deal with. Therefore, my parents drove us across the country back home to see all of our relatives. This is one of the best memories I have. After not seeing my second family for two years, I remember getting out of the car and running into the arms of my aunt. My family members and I were greeted by all of our relatives at our uncles house since we were going to be staying with him for a week.
I will never forget the pure joy of being together again after so long. The warmth and love from my relatives was beyond what anyone could ever imagine. I am very proud to have such a great family a great relationship with them.
My other favorite vacation memories relate to going to another country. I travelled to England and Spain, both beautiful countries. The people were wonderful and friendly and the scenery was just breathtaking. My favorite memory is hanging out with a Spaniard I met when I was working in the United States. We happened to meet while he was on vacation and then I went to Spain to spend time with him. He showed me ancient castles and introduced me other Spaniards that were extremely welcoming. I had such a wonderful time and appreciate him making sure that I did.
During my time in England I met a man working in a pizza shop that became the man I was going to marry. We never did but of course this was my intention. It never panned out but I will never forget meeting him for the first time and carrying on one of the best love stories in my lifetime.
Another vacation that I would consider one of my best is when I went with what is now my best friend to Pennsylvania to horseback ride. I met my friend during another vacation I was on and we just hit it off. We continued to call each other building our friendship and he happened to tell me that he has never traveled outside of New York. Therefore, I planned to take him on a vacation in Pennsylvania horse back riding. I rode a female horse that was very careful and knew exactly where to go on the trail whereas my friend's horse bounced up and down jolting him around and making his ride very uncomfortable. He admitted to me later that day that he will never go commando again when going horseback riding. I laughed for hours realizing that everyone knows to wear enough protection especially when riding for the first time. It took him quite awhile before he healed from the pain and the embarassment.
