Dusk
the moon
and a single star
are all there is
to be seen
in these precious hours
of in-between
hope and despair
its not knowing
what will happen next
the bad keeps rolling
and the good isn't coming
laying here
beneath the sky
wondering why
never wanting to move
never wanting to leave
to be in this moment
this moment of peace
reach out
and stop time
its not morning
its not night
but everything
is just right
breathing easy
just to be
its hard now
but tomorrow just may
bring something better
death is next door
always is
but fighting back
is the only way to live
