Aspen, Colorado is a historic, relaxing mountain getaway. This area is geared towards the outdoor enthusiast. The warm, dry summer weather allows for the outdoor enthusiast to enjoy their favorite pass time, nature.

Summer activities in Aspen are plentiful. Where there is a mountain, there will be rock climbers. Aspen is a rock-climbing haven. The Rocky Mountains have plenty of peaks to be conquered and you could be their conqueror. The local area has many establishments that offer safe fun. If you are new to rock climbing, the area has many rock climbing guides who will escort you to a faade of your skill level and teach you how to climb safely.

If rock climbing is too intense for you, there is always hiking. There are quite a few trails in the area. One such trail is world famous and should be visited. The Conundrum Creek Trail is an 8.5-mile long trail that can be traversed in two days both ways. There is a great little surprise here for all outdoor lovers. Nature's hot tubs are located on this trail and offer a nice hot soak for your tired muscles after a day of hiking. Camping along this trail is a great vacation idea and should definitely be considered.

The area also offers white water rafting for those days that are too hot for hiking or rock climbing. The locals know all the sweet spots for rafting and they also offer guided rafting tours. Where there's water, there's fish, and the fishing is good in these waters. Do some fly-fishing and relax. The area is chock-full of lakes, some at higher altitudes, are just begging for you to slip into them.

How about a nice gondola ride to the summit of the mountain? The gondola runs throughout the summer. On top of the summit sits the Sundeck Restaurant and plenty of great views. The ride charges a small fee to get to the top, however, it is worth it; don't forget to bring your camera.

Mountain biking is a moderate outdoor activity, however, in Colorado this moderate activity can become extreme. There are plenty of areas to bike around, some are extreme, others, like downtown Aspen are more relaxing. No matter what style you are up for, you should definitely take a bicycle tour of the area.

Aspen, Colorado is a beautiful area, an area that should be thoroughly enjoyed and explored. There are many outdoor activities to do in Aspen; these are just a few favorites among tourists.
