Depression
Numb,
Broken,
Floating,
Spinning,
All at once.
Heart's pounding in your head, like under water.
Muffled voices trying to reach you
Before you're too far gone
Somewhere...
hell..
lost forever
knee-deep in black-sludge-vomit
Waging war with demons
Stuck in an endless pit of reality
Might you become a stranger to even yourself.
Too little to late...
Too weak to break free, like so often-times before.
Too tired to care you are naked
One with the rubble of ash and flames
Floating on the salty water.
And there is no more pain.
Your tears have finally lost their intoxicating familiarity
Because you realize they are not your own.
They are the tears of your children and all who cared.
They mourn your freedom
While you thank God for being reborn!

MY PROMISE
Last night I dreamed that I was dead
I dreamed that it was over
There was no torment in my heart
No sorrow lingered
Prescription drugs on tap,

Drugs flowing freely into the minds of people whose thought processes

You know that hangdog feeling
When life's kicked you in the crutch,
When the world seems ranged against you
And to breathe
by CanCan
There you are in the mirror again
Looking for hope and even a friend
The blemishes you find that no one else sees
You cry in
A shadow flees through the night
Swift and stealthy
A demon
with glowing red eyes
She stops
in front of a bistro
Moves in,
closing
