As a veteriary technician of over six years, there are only two products which I would (professionally and personally) recommend for the care of ridding a pet of a flea infestation - Frontline Top Spot is one of those products, and the other is a product called Advantage - both of which can be purchased solely through your pets veterinarian.

Each of these products are available for both cats and dogs, and strenght of the medication dispensed is first gaged by the pet species, then by the weight of that particular pet.

Both are very easy to use, and are also non-toxic to other pets, nor are they toxic to humans, and comes either product comes in a 6-month supply, or individual doses can usually be bought as well, although purchasing the entire 6-month supply at once is more cost effective.

Medication is applied by parting about 1 inch of hair on the back of the pets neck untill you can see the skin,(usually right under where the pets collar lays), and applying the contents of a single vial of medication directly to the visible area of skin.

True, these products are slightly higher in price, but for good reason - these products truly work!

When all else fails, and you just can't decide which route to go in the treatment of your pets flea infestation, you can always call and get the best opinion available - from your pets veterinarian!
