What is the difference between your soul and spirit?

by Steve Marshall

Created on: June 23, 2008

To recognise, and properly establish the difference between soul and spirit, we need to define the terms themselves. What is soul, and what is spirit?

Soul is part of truth. Spirit is the messenger of truth. What does this mean? Spirit is love. Love that connects soul to soul, and truth to truth. Love comes from God, and spirit is God sending love out to all souls. Spirit is God's messenger of love, and more than just bringing a message, spirit is the vehicle carrying God's love to all souls. Spirit is God's own thoughts. God's own soul, which is all of us souls combined, creates a spirit, that was created when God's soul was divided into separate souls, and creation was created for these souls, for the first time, from out of God, himself.

This creation of separate souls from the one soul, required a method of reconnection, or rejoining together again of these now separated individually unique parts. This was, and is spirit. Spirit is the vehicle, or the mechanism that allows soul to know its creator, God. Spirit is like an oversoul, created from the very disconnection, and from the reality of there being no real separation at all. Arising from this rejoining of all souls, is created a spirit, which indwells in, but also above, as itself, within, and without. The spirit is in all things, permeating through all things, souls included. This spirit embraces all souls, and dwells in and out of God.

God needed re-connection to himself, from his parts, or his created souls. This connection to his parts, needed to be not from another part of himself, but from something created from the combined sum of these parts, and which in effect was then greater than the parts, and this is spirit. Arising from the separation, reconnecting that which was never separated, only separated by love. This illusionary separation allows love and God, to be able to see itself from inside and outside of itself, rather than from seeing only continuously from an inexperienced theoretical knowledge of truthful knowing, without any trialled establishment of itself, outside of that knowledge.

God wanted to make his knowledge real, and turn it into the wisdom, that could then be individually arising from his parts, to produce a greater, and greater rising wisdom, that was plateaued before, with him being all infinitely alone. God was infinite, and knew all things, but was not growing within himself. This miracle of separation, allows God to grow, through experience of his freely constructed separate
