Poetry: Flowers

by Cate Stewart

The rose is a flower
The violet is too
The sunflower and beach-flower's
Names will tell you

Though the daisy
And dandelions
Are considered weeds in a way
They give the finishing touch
To a child's bouquet.

The hibiscus and
The water lily are
Tropical plants
And you can only run into
The bleeding Heart by chance.

Ivy bears flowers
So does the cactus
Fruit bearing vines and trees
Will have beautiful blossoms,
Then bear fruit like cherries.
