The story of the game is there once was just one empire until Metin Stones started falling from the sky and bringing violent and frightening creatures with them causing the empires to split into three. The end goal is to restore the lands peaceful state again.

There are four types of characters that you can choose from: Warrior, Sura, Assassin, and Mage. Each having their own magic powers, their own types of weapons, and armor. I believe the highest level you can obtain is level 85, however it's a very challenging and fun process to get that high. There are over 20 different lands that you can fight and train in, as well as hundreds of different creatures that you must battle. For everything that you kill, you receive gold drops, other items needed to upgrade your character, as well as build experience. When you build experience, you then build your character's level. Each character type has a different character status to build strength, hit points, magic points, intelligence, and dexterity.

Mining and fishing are also very popular in Metin 2. Mining ores such as copper, diamond, crystal, jade, and etc, gives you the ability to add special features to your weapons, armor, and jewelry to gain more experience or to increase your skills. Fishing is a great way to take a break from the battle of the game and catch a few fish. There are fishing events that occur each weekend where you can cash in your caught fish for treasure boxes that hold surprises and gifts. You can also grill your fish to receive health or magic potions. Just like your weapons and armor, the more you mine or the more you fish, you have the ability to upgrade your pick ax and your fishing rod.

Battle is a huge part of Metin 2. Each empire battles each other in wars and national wars to gain supremacy over the other. Guilds can be formed to build rank in the kingdom as well as wage war to other guilds. When a guild
