Poetry: If I could

by Rachel Frazer

Created on: June 22, 2008

If I could catch a raindrop in the corner of my eye
If I could ride a paper plane across the endless sky

If I could grow a maple tree a thousand miles tall
If I could read the ancient scrolls right from the hand of Paul

If I could dance in raging fire with ice cream in my shoes
If I could run a marathon and never, ever lose

If I could blow a candle out and cause the walls to break
If I could stand in oceans deep while making chocolate cake

If I could live in Shakespeare's time and earn myself his fame
If I could paint a masterpiece and say I'm not to blame

If I could sing in harmony and sing both parts myself
If I could locate Santa Claus and purchase me an elf

Then there'd be one thing I still couldn't do
I can't describe how I love you
A thousand words, a million more
Can't contain how I long for you
